Abundant Wildlife in the Gardens and Surroundings
The bird life in the surrounding gardens is prolific and it is not uncommon to see scrub hares, mongoose and the odd klipspringer rummaging around on the slopes above. And during the summer season, tortoises of all sizes walk nonchalantly around the streets and through the gardens.
Scenic Trails and Easy Walks Nearby
The Cogman’s Kloof hiking trail and the more challenging Blou Punt trail are within walking distance from the cottages, and for the less energetic, the contour path running along the hills above, gives a very pleasant 1-hour stroll. And the centre of the town is about a 20-minute easy walk away.
